Urogynaecology

Urogynecology is a subspecialty of gynaecology and obstetrics that deals with reconstructive surgery and female pelvic care. Urogynecologists are medical professionals who identify and treat pelvic floor disorders including weak bladder muscles or pelvic organ prolapse, in which your organs fall out due to weak pelvic floor muscles.

Your bladder, reproductive organs, and rectum are all located on the pelvic floor region of the body.

Vaginal Pessary

If you have organ prolapse difficulties, pessaries, which are medical devices put into your vagina, are used to support your organs. Pessaries are soft and can be found in a variety of sizes and forms. You can get fitted for one at your doctor’s office during a visit. They can be taken off to be cleaned.

Pelvic Floor Muscle Training

Kegel exercises can help with problems like prolapse. Kegel exercises involve contracting and relaxing the pelvic floor muscles. These exercises can lessen more severe prolapse symptoms, but they won’t totally cure them.

Nerve Stimulation

Nerve stimulation therapies are helpful for overactive bladders, much like acupuncture.
